As the government has recently provided updated guidance regarding current restrictions and working safely in other people’s homes, YogIsie is now resuming in-person private and group classes in accordance with recommended guidelines.
The most up to date information can be found at: https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/coronavirus-outbreak-faqs-what-you-can-and-cant-do and https://www.gov.uk/guidance/working-safely-during-coronavirus-covid-19/homes.
For individual in-person classes in a persons home:
- Isie will not attend an in-person class if she or the care-seeker are displaying any cold/flu or COVID-19 symptoms
- a 2m social distance will be maintained at all times
- The washing of hands more often than usual for 20 seconds using soap and hot water, particularly after coughing, sneezing, and blowing your nose. Reducing the spread of germs when you cough or sneeze by covering your mouth and nose with a tissue, or your sleeve (not your hands) if you don’t have a tissue, and throw the tissue in a bin immediately, then wash your hands.
- It is advised to clean regularly touched objects and surfaces using regular cleaning products to reduce the risk of passing any infection on to other people.
- Continued communication will be kept prior to any visit to discuss how your appointment will be carried out to minimise risk for all parties, including to ensure that a 2m distance is kept from you.
- We will aim to work outdoors or in well-ventilated rooms whenever possible.
- contact with door handles will be minimised.
- Identifying busy areas across the household where people travel to, from or through, for example, stairs and corridors, and minimising movement within these areas.
- Avoiding transmission during appointments, for example from sharing/touching objects (eg your exercise equipment).
- Face masks; Occasionally it may be deemed necessary to wear a face covering to not only protect myself, but you too. This will be done when felt necessary, but in most cases, it will be better to be over precautionary. Please visit https://www.gov.uk/guidance/working-safely-during-coronavirus-covid-19/homes#homes-6-1 for more detailed information regarding face coverings.
For in-person group classes:
- group size will be kept to a maximum of 6 persons to ensure social distancing can be adhered to at all times
- all students will be asked prior to each to class to declare that they have not had/do not have any cold/flu, COVID-19 symptoms whatsoever in the week leading up to each class, if they have had any cold/flu or COVID- 19 symptoms then they are asked to not attend class and self-isolate for 2 weeks
- If you have to self-isolate for whatever reason and have paid for a class or block of classes in advance, these will be retained and resumed when next attendance occurs
- all students are to be made aware that if they test positive for COVID-19 that they must inform YogIsie immediately, who must consequently immediately contact the venue (Long Ashton Community Centre) as well as all other students who attended the last class. All classes for the next 2 weeks will be suspended and all other students will be informed who must then self-isolate for 2 weeks. Everyone in that persons household must also self isolate for 2 weeks, and anyone else that they have come into contact with will also have to self isolate. The Centre will close immediately and will remain closed for 2 weeks as well as carrying out a full deep clean and sanitisation of the premises (resulting in a loss of earnings and costs incurred for the deep clean). This is keeping in line with the Governments Track and Trace Guidelines, more information can be found here: https://www.gov.uk/guidance/nhs-test-and-trace-how-it-works
Arriving and Leaving an In-person Group Class Procedure:
All care-seekers must read the following procedure before attending an in-person group class.
- when arriving for class, students must wait outside the hall entrance, in a socially distant way, to be called in 1 by 1 and shown to their allocated square, when leaving, students must leave through a different door 1 by 1
- students must sanitise when entering and leaving the hall, further sanitiser will be provided during class if required
- students will bring and use all equipment they may need (mats, blocks, straps, blankets, bottled water, masks)
- The windows of the hall will be kept open to ensure plenty of ventilation during class, heaters will also be used during the colder months
- Isie will wear a face covering for the duration of the class including when care-seekers arrive and leave
- The Centre will fully clean and sanitise the hall before and after class
- The use of toilets at the centre is discouraged, if they are needed to be used then it is 1 at a time
